Tartan Fabrics
Genuine Scottish pure wool tartan by the metre, woven by Lochcarron and Marton Mills. We also supply the Czech National Tartan. The cloth comes in three weights, and the right choice depends on what you plan to make:
- Heavyweight (approx. 335 g/m²) is the classic cloth for traditional kilts. It holds the pleats and wears well.
- Mediumweight (approx. 280 g/m²) suits kilts for warmer weather, skirts and waistcoats.
- Lightweight (220–240 g/m²) is ideal for scarves, ties, sashes and women's clothing.
Most tartans are ordered directly from the mill according to your choice of pattern and colour variant (modern, ancient, weathered). Tell us which tartan you are looking for and we will check availability.
