West Highland battle sword kilt pin
The people of the Western Isles favoured a smaller, more nimble sword over the great Claymore. A lighter weapon suited a seafaring life and coastal expeditions, while the forward-sloping quillons remained unmistakably Scottish.
This miniature is hand-finished in quality pewter, given an antique-silver finish and mounted with a sturdy pin and ball joint. It is made by skilled craftspeople in a Glasgow workshop.
Attach the pin only to the front apron. It adds useful weight and plenty of character without requiring you to join a medieval sea raid. Unless you already had plans.
