Scottish thistle kilt pin

The thistle has been a national symbol of Scotland since at least the reign of James III. During the Renaissance it became a favourite decorative motif, representing the beauty and hardy character of the Scottish landscape and its people.

This pewter pin is hand cast in a Glasgow workshop. The detailed thistle crest sits upon a sword motif, bringing the kilt a traditional accent that is smart enough for celebrations and sturdy enough for regular wear.

How to wear a kilt pin

Pin it only to the front apron of the kilt. It adds weight and helps keep the fabric down without fastening the two layers together.
