Ghillie Brogues - Scottish kilt shoes - have a specific cut without a tongue, they are tied only with laces. The Piper model features a cushioned layered sole and extra padding inside the shoe to allow standing and walking all day without restriction or foot pain. They have a horseshoe heel - a specific feature used especially by pipers and drummers (the rhythm of the footsteps can be heard over the sound of the band).
