RSD10 Sgian Dubh
Description
Sgian Dubh – Traditional Scottish dagger for the kilt hose
Celtic dagger - Sgian Dubh with brown resin handle, in brown leather sheath with pattern.
Sgian Dubh (pronounced "skiːən duː") means "black knife" in Gaelic. Historically, it was a small dagger that Scottish highlanders carried concealed under their clothing for protection. Today, the Sgian Dubh is primarily a decorative element of traditional Scottish clothing, worn visibly in the stocking as part of a formal kilt outfit.
The blade of this knife is not sharpened as standard, ensuring safe carrying on formal occasions. It is made of high-quality 420J1 stainless steel with a hardness of 50–51 HRC, which is a material durable enough to create a sharp edge. If you plan to sharpen the blade, it is recommended that you have this done by an experienced knife sharpener.
Product specifications:
- Blade material: 420J1 stainless steel, hardness 50–51 HRC
- Origin: Scottish tradition
- Use: Decorative accessory, can be sharpened for practical use
The Sgian Dubh is not only a symbol of Scottish history, but also a stylish accessory that will enhance the authenticity of your kilt outfit.
