Sgian Dubh - Officer.
Description
Sgian Dubh - Traditional Scottish Sgian Dubh
The Sgian Dubh, Officer model, is handcrafted from brass, wood and stainless steel. The handle features a handy corkscrew and a bottle opener. The stainless steel blade is sharpened by the manufacturer, with a Celtic pattern (laser engraved) on one side.
Sgian Dubh (pronounced "skiːən duː") means "black knife" in Gaelic. Historically, it was a small dagger that Scottish Highlanders carried hidden under their clothing for protection. Today, the Sgian Dubh is primarily a decorative element of traditional Scottish dress, worn prominently in a knee brace as part of a formal kilt outfit.
The blade of this knife is not standard sharpened, ensuring safe carry on formal occasions. It is made of high quality stainless steel type 420J1 with a hardness of 50-51 HRC, a material durable enough to form a blade. If you plan to sharpen the blade, it is recommended that you entrust this task to an experienced sharpener.
Product Specifications:
- Blade material: Stainless steel 420J1, hardness 50-51 HRC

- Use: Decorative accessory, can be sharpened for practical use
The Sgian Dubh is not only a symbol of Scottish history, but also a stylish accessory that will enhance the authenticity of your kilt outfit.
