Description

Practice chanter. They are made of Polypenco plastic. For a better feeling, the holes on the chanter are recessed - even if you don't play with your fingertips, you can feel where the holes are.

Practice shalmai are available in three lengths:
- children's - designed for players up to 12 years of age
- standard length - the spacing of the holes is shorter than that on the shalmai (fingerboard) of the Scottish bagpipes - this makes it easier for beginning players to learn fingerpicking
- extended length - the spacing of the holes on the practice shalmai matches that on the Great Highland Bagpipe. This makes it easier for beginners to transition to a "sharp" instrument, and for advanced players to get a better "feel" when practicing.
